Observance of National Poetry Month Hear A Trio of Georgia Poets Saturday, April 5, 2008, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Northeast/Spruill Oaks Regional Library 9560 Spruill Road, Atlanta, GA 30022 (two miles west of H. 141 North and Old Alabama Rd.) Readings of their own verses by each of three prize-winning State Poets: Ron Self Columbus Attorney/Musician/Poet; President, Georgia Poetry Society; host of monthly open mic poetry event at Columbus Public Library; poems have appeared in The Atlanta Review, The English Journal, The Legal Studies Forum, and various publications and anthologies. John K. Ottley, Jr. Alpharetta; Past President of GPS, Editor, 1995-2001, Midwest Poetry Review; Treasurer, National Federation of State Poetry Societies; more than 100 poems published; author of two poetry books, That Nature Might Stand Up and The Hope of Upstream Water. Robert L. Lynn Johns Creek Speaker/Musician/Poet; college president 22 years; current editor, The Reach of Song, GPS annual poetry anthology; author of 400 poems; author/editor of eight books, including one poetry volume; second poetry book due in August; his verse has appeared in many publications. Members of the audience who wish will also be given opportunity to read one of their poems. Information will be shared about membership in the Georgia Poetry Society.
