The Georgia Poetry Society invites you to become part of the next generation of its leadership. The Georgia Poetry Society is a volunteer Society whose members serve the cause of poetry without pay. Like all volunteer organizations, its activities and service to the wider public are highly dependent on the involvement of its volunteer members. We need your help. Following are the positions for which applicants are currently sought. All positions assume computer literacy, access to email, and the ability to attend meetings of GPS during the term of service. If interested, please email President Ron Self at GeorgiaPoetrySociety@Yahoo.com. Publicity Committee Chair: Responsible for publicity and promotion of GPS activities, including its contests and featured events. Works with the membership committee to increase the visibility of GPS to non-members. Librarian: The GPS Librarian fulfills membership orders for the annual anthology The Reach of Song. The Librarian also supervises the archival holdings of the Society. Committee members: In addition to the contest committee chairs, members are sought who are interested in these areas (nominations, contests, membership, publicity). We're also looking for poets to be a part of our "Poets in the Schools" program, and to help coordinate our annual Youth Contests. |
